About Me - Ms. C McNeil
Dear Parents and Students,
I am excited to be teaching 6th grade at Rogers Park this year. I was born and raised here in Anchorage, and I have lived here all my life except for my time at and directly after college. I attended the Colorado School of Mines, where I received my degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics. I worked for four years as an engineer in an aeronautics technology company, where I built, tested, and certified products for business aircrafts. I am working towards my Masters in Elementary Education from UAS.
When I’m not grading papers or lesson planning, you can find me at the rock gym. I am also a voracious reader and I love getting new book recommendations. In my spare time I like to crochet and knit and do the occasional watercolor painting. I also enjoy curling, biking, and baking. I bowled competitively for many years, both in high school and after college. I love to travel and have been all over North America and Europe. My most recent trips were to Scandinavia, Iceland, Russia, and a road trip around the lower 48 and Canada.
This year, I have the great pleasure of co-teaching with my sister, Rachel McNeil. There is so much I am looking forward to teaching this year! 6th grade is filled with great projects like NHD (National History Day), ROPEs, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), and more.
I know this will be a great year full of learning, fun, and adventure. It is an honor to be your child’s teacher this year.
Sincerely,
Ms. C McNeil
